Woven With Purpose, Rooted in Tradition
SilkenSaree was built on a simple belief: every silk saree should carry the honesty of the loom it came from. Here's who we are, and why we do things the way we do.
A Saree Should Never Lie About Where It Came From
SilkenSaree started with a frustration many saree lovers know well: it's hard to tell what you're really buying online. Blended silk sold as pure. Machine-woven pieces passed off as handloom. We set out to build the opposite of that — a place where every saree's origin, weave, and certification are exactly what we say they are.
Today, that means working directly with weaver families in and around Kanchipuram, skipping the layers of middlemen that usually separate a customer from the hands that actually made her saree.
Our Mission
To make certified, authentic Kanchipuram silk accessible to every woman who wants one — without inflated prices, without guesswork, and without losing the weaver who made it in the process.
Our Vision
A future where handloom weaving remains a thriving, well-paid craft — not a disappearing one — because customers can see, and trust, exactly what they're supporting.
Two Promises We Never Break
These aren't marketing lines — they're the two things we built the entire business around.
Direct From Trusted Weavers
Every saree is sourced directly from weaver families we've worked with for years — no unnamed wholesalers, no unclear supply chain. You're paying the person who actually wove it, more fairly than a middleman ever would.
The Certified Silk Promise
Every saree we sell as pure silk comes with silk certification. If it's labelled Kanchipuram silk, it's woven in Kanchipuram, on silk yarn — not a blend, not a look-alike, not "silk-finish" polyester.
How We Got Here
SilkenSaree Was Founded
Started with a small handpicked collection and a simple promise: direct sourcing, honest certification.
First Weaver Partnerships
Built long-term relationships with weaver families around Kanchipuram, moving away from third-party wholesalers.
Showroom Opened in Bangalore
Opened our first physical showroom so customers could see and feel the silk before buying.
Serving Customers Across India
Now shipping nationwide, with video shopping support for customers who can't visit in person.
We didn't want to be another online store reselling whatever was cheapest to source. Every saree here is something I'd be proud to have my own family wear — because in a lot of cases, they already have.
